THE MASTER

A legendary martial arts master who fought for his country. In 19th century China, during the corrupt and incompetent Qing dynasty, the people suffer at the hands of greedy landlords, corrupt officials and unwelcome foreign invaders. Chen Xiang, a martial art master who combines Northern and Southern techniques, opens a martial arts school hoping to strengthen the health of the people. A martial arts contest is held by foreign fighters. Chen beats fighters from Russia, Japan and Germany, and shows the superiority of Chinese martial arts. Chen is remembered as the founder of “Choy Li Fut” martial arts, which is particularly effective in defending against multiple attackers. For many years, he leads the militia against the invasion of foreign countries to protect his own homeland.
